Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need lead protection if I already have a shielded X-ray room?
Shielded rooms reduce scatter radiation in the environment, but staff who remain in the room during exposures – positioning patients or holding equine limbs, for example – still need personal protective equipment such as lead aprons, thyroid shields, and gloves.
What's the difference between a positioning sponge and a sandbag?
Positioning sponges cradle and support a patient in a specific pose without adding significant weight, while sandbags hold a limb or body part in place using their own mass. Most practices keep both on hand for different case types.
Can I buy accessories separately from an X-ray system?
Yes. Our accessories are sold as standalone items, so you can restock protective gear, add positioning aids, or upgrade a workstation without purchasing new imaging equipment.
Are these accessories compatible with equine imaging?
Several categories, including positioning aids and mobile carts, include equine-specific options built for field and barn use alongside standard small-animal accessories.
